From September 30 to October 1, 2026, multiple running media outlets reported that the 2027 London Marathon will be held over two days for the first time, with a total of 100,000 runners participating, and the elite race day decided by rock-paper-scissors between two current London Marathon champions and world record holders—Kenyan athlete Sabastian Sawe and Swiss athlete Catherine Debrunner.
