Swedish war photographer Jacob Zocherman spent three weeks road-tripping roughly 2,500 miles across California, Utah, and Colorado while shooting the Western States 100 and Hardrock 100 ultramarathons for Trail Runner. His conclusion: "Everything is extreme in America"—politically, geographically, geologically, meteorologically, culturally.
