The Dos and Don'ts of Taper Week

Taper week should reduce training load so fatigue dissipates and runners reach the start line rested, not restless. Keep sleep, easy movement, light foam rolling or massage, normal meals and hydration familiar, and avoid new supplements, aggressive stretching, deep-tissue massage or first-time heat and cold protocols. Compression boots and garments are optional, not proven last-minute performance enhancers.
